There’s no time like the present to take the plunge and buy yourself a fantastic new car. While the financial burden of new car ownership can seem daunting, the deeper you look the more you realise that there are plenty of tempting finance deals out there that can help bring the performance car of your dreams within reach.

We’ve examined the best new car deals out there at the moment on some of our favourite cars across multiple market segments and highlighted some compelling deals for hot hatches, coupes, convertibles and more. Most of the deals below are PCP (personal contract purchases) with a few lease and HP (hire purchase) options as well. So whatever your budget you should find a car that will help you scratch your performance car itch on a payment plan that will suit.

Best new car deals 2018

Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce

Another eCoty victor ( in the sports saloon category) the Veloce sits below the full-fat Quadrifoglio in the Giulia model hierarchy, trading the former’s V6 for an inline-four, but its chassis is every bit as impressive. Purchased through a PCP scheme, Alfa requires a £ deposit which will be augmented by a £2000 deposit contribution, leaving you with 48 monthly payments of £429 and an optional balloon payment of £13k at the term’s end to keep the car.

BMW M2

The most junior BMW Motorsport division product is that bit more amiable than its larger sibling the M4 and all the better for it. BMW is offering the small coupe through a hire purchase scheme – negating a balloon payment at the end to keep the car – with monthly payments near £900 for four years based on £7000 deposit.

Audi RS3 Saloon

A stonking engine, quality cabin and miniature saloon body lends the four-door RS3 real kudos. Shelling out £8k for a deposit, followed by monthly payments of £470 month will get you this impressive German sports saloon.

Lotus Elise 220 Sport

There are few purer and more involving drives than those behind the wheel of Lotus. The Norwich based manufacturer is offering a short term finance contract, crucially with 0 per cent interest, if you can cobble together half the value of the car for a deposit.

Porsche 718 Cayman

This new 718 Cayman is available for just under £400 per month. It’s perhaps not quite as characterful as the previous model, but a great driver’s car nonetheless.

Sub-supercar group test - 570S

McLaren 570S

Despite being toward the bottom end of the Mclaren range, the 570S is a full-blown supercar in its own right. Other than a fairly hefty initial deposit, the car can be had for about £1000 per month. If one can afford the initial payment, this could well be the least expensive way into supercar ownership.

Peugeot 308 GTi 270 by Peugeot Sport

Peugeot’s performance flagship may not be the quickest option in a hot hatch class currently ruled by the Honda Civic Type R, but it’s competent, composed and available on very reasonable finance rates. On a three-year PCP deal monthly payments a tad over £400 will follow a £3k deposit, topped up by Peugeot’s £1700 deposit contribution. If you wish to keep it beyond the three years, a final balloon payment of £11k will be due.

Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport

An eCoty winner, the Peugeot Sport fettled version of the Peugeot 208 GTi is a riotous hot supermini that mixes refinement and fun with great success. Put down a £3000 deposit and low monthly payments of £230 will get you our favourite junior hot hatch for four years, with a mileage allowance of 10k per annum.

Jaguar F-Type Coupe

Part with a £20k deposit for the lower-powered 3-litre supercharged V6 model and Jaguar will lend you £37k at 0 per cent interest to pay off the remaining balance over three years with monthly payments of £1050. The six-cylinder variant(s) offer a rewarding mix of resolved handling and impressive acceleration.

More deals from brokers

There are plenty more deals available on evo performance car favourites – those above are just a small selection from manufacturers. Below, we’ve found more of the best broker deals on the market right now, including some from our sister site Buyacar.

Volkswagen Golf GTI

The VW Golf GTI remains a classic hot hatch that blends everyday usability and performance impeccably. The uprated Performance model – equipped with an LSD, more power and bigger brakes – can be purchased on finance with a £3900 discount through buyacar.

Ford Focus RS

Thanks to its instant success, demand has been strong for the Ford Focus RS, but the option to pay £420 per month for custom specced car is surely something that cannot be overlooked.

Audi TT

The Audi TT is better than ever; sharper to drive with a best in class interior it’s an appealing proposition. A discount of £2600  is currently available for a 1.8-litre TFSI model in S line trim, which normally retails for £31k.
