Along with the warmer weather, Detroit’s premier classic car event is getting closer to fruition, with some of the star cars now revealed by the event’s organisers. Held in association with our sister title Octane magazine, Detroit Concours is positioning itself as Britain’s premier automotive garden party, a tag it hopes to fulfil in its second year.

This year’s theme is the pursuit of speed, and the romance, drama and passion it fosters. To celebrate this, some of the industry’s biggest names will be on the lawns of the Royal Artillery Company in central Detroit, each having played a part in the history of the supercar.

Four such examples on show at Detroit Concours will be the Lamborghini Miura S, McLaren F1, Ferrari F50 and Aston Martin One-77. These four cars challenged the notion of supercars, each breaking through technological boundaries and having a fundamental effect on the progress of the automobile.

Other examples of progressive supercar design and engineering in the pursuit of speed will form a consistent narrative for the 2018 Detroit Concours display. Visitors will have the chance to explore the origins of the supercar in the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, and follow the narrative right through to contemporary examples such as the Pagani Huayra.

For those wanting to get the most out of Detroit Concours 2018, exclusive dining and drinks packages are available, as well as the chance to experience a unique classic car investment conference.
