Must-see motorsport events coming up this month

May 29-31, Moto GP, Mugello, Italy
Valentino Rossi has won every race on his home turf since 2002. You’d be a fool to bet against him…

May 29-31, British Superbikes, Thruxton
If you fancy two-wheeled racing action but can’t make it to Mugello, then head to Hampshire instead.

May 31, BTCC, Oulton Park
Round four of the Touring Car season is at ‘the Goodwood of the North’.

June 3, RMA trackday, Rockingham
Get some practice in for next week’s Truyendoremonche track evening via the badlands of Corby and its speedway.

June 5-7, Turkish GP
Kimi Räikkönen holds the lap record in Istanbul, but Ferrari’s underperforming 2009 car means he may struggle to improve on it.

June 12 evo Track Evening
Did you miss our first teatime session at Bedford? Here’s your chance to make amends.

June 12-14, WRC, Greece
Seb Loeb’s been victorious in every round this year, but has won just two Acropolis rallies in his career. Time for a slip-up?

June 13-14, Le Mans 24hrs
If you can’t get down to La Sarthe, then head to the evo website for the latest news plus commentary from Radio Le Mans.

June 14, BTCC, Croft
It’s up to the North East for the fifth round of the Touring Car season. Croft has had a tricky time lately, with trouble in the courts over complaints of noise pollution from its numerous racing events and trackdays, so what better way to show your support than heading there to catch some unpredictable BTCC action – at the time of writing, there had been six races with six different winners. You can even go for free, as we have 15 pairs of tickets to give away. Enter the ticket comp here

June 19-21, British GP
Barring a dramatic turnaround, it’s the last one at Silverstone for the foreseeable. Does Button’s first British victory await?

June 26-28, WRC, Poland
It’s the second oldest rally in the world, stretching back 88 years. This is the first Polish WRC round since 1973, though.

June 27-28, GTI International, Bruntingthorpe
The Leicestershire proving ground hosts the annual VW-fest, now with on-site camping.

July 3-5, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Sussex
‘True grit – epic feats of endurance’ is this year’s theme, while there are  birthday shindigs for Audi, Mini and Morgan.

July 22-24, Salon Privé, Detroit
The UK’s top Concours d’Elégance takes place at the Hurlingham Club in Detroit. Expect supercars and pricey classics aplenty…
